Changing times allow for new adventures. Don’t get stuck in your old rut of traveling. As much as we thought we liked to not work on our travels, we changed our mind midway through our 4 months of travels in South America and Central America. My girlfriend and I landed some great little jobs on http://www.workaway.info that gave us room and board, as well as access to kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards and more. These little barter your work for a place to stay and food jobs are a great way to meet a lot of people and also engage with the local community more than being a tourist. We not only met some great friends we will be staying in touch with, but we also didn’t have to spend any money. All in all, we spent $20 on water taxis to get to the local surf break over those 20 days.
